Cultural Award Presented
The Honourable Tony Brown SHK, Chairman of the Manx Heritage Foundation, presenting the Reih Bleeaney Vanannan to Annie Kissack.
The Manx Heritage Foundation's prestigious annual cultural award has gone to the Bunscoill at St John's for 2006. This award recognises an outstanding contribution to Manx culture during the previous year and the Bunscoiil, where 43 primary children are learning the entire curriculum through the medium of Manx Gaelic, was a much deserved recipient. As well as the bronze statue of Manannan and a medallion, the school will receive a cash award of £1,000 to spend as they like to further the work of the Bunscoill.
