The Foundation has been recording an unusual aspect of Manx cultural life - tattoos of the Three Legs.
It is planned to produce a postcard later in the year of images of the Three Legs from around the Island, and it was decided to include a tattoo in the collection.
In response to an advert placed in the local newspapers, volunteers came to the Rover's Return in Douglas to have their tattoos photographed and to tell us something about why they had had them done.
Foundation photographer John Hall spent an afternoon in a small room in the back of the Rover's pub photographing arms, legs and backs, displaying a wide variety of the famous Manx symbol.
