New Videos Launched for Island Schools

The launch of the new Food and Farming videos at Manor Park School

The Manx Heritage Foundation has collaborated with the Food and Farming in Schools campaign to make four films about food and farming. They've been produced as teaching and learning resources for use in Manx schools. Each film comes with additional classroom discussion resources produced by the campaign's co-ordinator, ffinlo Costain.

The four films, directed by Charles Guard, feature Laxey Glen Mills and Ramsey Bakery, a dairy farm and the Creameries, as well as organic farming on the Island and the farmers' friend - the tractor. The films were launched at Manor Park school this week in the presence of the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon Phil Gawne MHK and Howard Quayle of the Manx National Farmers' Union.

The films have been issued on DVD to all the schools, but they can also be watched on-line on the Heritage Foundation's website by following the link at the end of this article. The additional teaching resources are available on the campaign's website at ilovemanx.org where there is further information.
