World War II

Rosemary Wood

The Foundation, in conjunction with the Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society, has agreed to undertake an extensive programme of oral history interviewing to record the memories of people who were on the Island during the last war. This story is largely unrecorded and will focus on people who worked in the Interment Camps, who were in the Home Guard or who had soldiers billeted with them. It is also hoped to conduct more interviews with people who were interned here.

If you know of anyone who might be able to talk to us about their experiences on the Island during the war, please contact Charles Guard at heritage@redlyon.com or by phoning 624093.
