Stewart Watterson , Honorary Treasurer

Stewart Watterson retired at the end of 2003 following a career mainly spent with Manx Radio. He joined the Civil Service after leaving Castle Rushen High School and by the mid 1970s found himself introduced to broadcasting through an appointment as Secretary of the Isle of Man Broadcasting Commission. He left the Civil Service in 1978, moving to Manx Radio, initially as Company Secretary, and in 1981 was appointed General Manager. He joined the Board in 1988 as Managing Director, the position he held until retirement.

In his private life he has been a successful sportsman, having won medals for the Isle of Man in rifle shooting both at the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Shooting Championships, and for 14 years was a member of the Sports Council. He is married, with one son, and lives in Castletown.
