Adrian Cain took over the position of Manx Language Development Officer (Yn Greinneyder) for the Foundation in January 2004. His role is to raise the profile of Manx Gaelic both within the Island and internationally and to assist organisations who work to support the language. The last few years have seen a growth in interest in our native language and the work of the Greinneyder is to maintain and develop this. His job includes working with both private and public sector organisations together with the Manx play group organisation, Mooinjer Veggey, and the Bunscoill Ghaelgagh based at St. John's. Before taking up the post Mr. Cain was a school teacher who had taught in the Island, England and Papua New Guinea where he worked through the auspices of VSO.
