Projects

The Foundation supports a number of projects which aim to increase our knowledge about the Manx language. These are Funded by the Foundation and often run through the auspices of the centre for Manx Studies.

Manx Placename Survey: This major work was prepared by Professor George Broderick and  is published by Niemeyer; a usable and affordable version was  published in 2006.

Practical Manx Usage: This project will result in the publication of an authoritative guide to the grammar and use of the Manx language. Publication date: 2007. The work is being undertaken by Dr. Jennifer Kewley Draskau.

On-line Manx Gaelic project: This aims to provide a significant amount of searchable Manx Gaelic on the web. The first part of the project consists of an on-line Biblical concordance which is available at: http://www.mannin.info/MHF/
